Tours to Watch for in the Summer of 2008

The Summer of 2008 will be filled with some great concert tours. I've listed five of the biggest tours that will be hitting the road this Summer. Tour Dates listed are from Pollstar. Check with an artist's official website to be sure they are appearing on the date shown before traveling to a show. Plans do change. These were accurate as of May 26, 2008.

Kenny Chesney's "Poets and Pirates" Tour

Kenny Chesneyis the reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year, and he really knows how to put on a great show, with lots of great opening acts. This Summer is no different. In addition to several stadium dates, he'll be playing arenas and amphitheaters. LeAnn Rimesjoins Kenny as his opening act, along with Gary Allan, and Luke Bryan. On some dates, Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Big & Rich, and Sammy Hagar will appear. Check specific dates to find out which artists will be there.

Tim McGraw launched his Live Your Voice Tour on May 9 in Tampa, Florida with special guests Jason Aldean and Halfway To Hazard. The tour runs through the beginning of July.

Brad Paisley's "Paisley Party Tour"

Brad Paisley takes his "Paisley Party Tour" on the road. Joining him will be Chuck Wicks, Jewel, and Julianne Hough. The tour starts out on June 11th in Albuquerque, NM, and runs through mid-October.

Rascal Flatts "Bob Your Head" Tour

Rascal Flatts will kick off their new "Bob That Head Tour" on June 13th, at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis, MO. Joining them for this leg of the tour will be Taylor Swift, and songwriters Neil Thrasher and Wendell Mobley, who were responsible for several of Rascal Flatts hits, like "I Melt," "Take Me There," and "Fast Cars and Freedom." The tour is scheduled to run through the end of September.

Carrie Underwood's "Carnival Ride" Tour

Carrie Underwood is back to solo headlining, as she works her way across the country with her "Carnival Ride" tour. Opening act is Jason Michael Carroll. The tour continues through the end of June, and then Carrie will go solo, playing Festivals and Fairs through mid-September.
