It was a family get-together, where my uncle had a new thing called a karaoke machine. I was probably 14 and got up to sing. Everyone was shocked I could actually carry a tune.

Hobbies? I try to whack a little white ball around and I guess you call that golf.
Favorite sound? Old cars that go "A-hoo-gaa"
Favorite albums? Merle Haggard's Rainbow Stew, Live at Anaheim Stadium; Randy Travis' Storms of Life; Don Williams' Live at the Palladium
Favorite song? "Footlights" by Merle Haggard. It's an old song about a music career that both Hank Jr. and Merle recorded.
Fly or drive?: I hate flying! I like to ride - let someone else drive. I admit to being not such a good driver.
Musical Influences: Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, Lefty Frizzell, and my dad.
Luckiest moment: When I got the opportunity to meet Tony Brown and Tim DuBois, the presidents of my record label.
Scariest moment: Playing the Grand Ole Opry for the first time.
Most embarrassing moment: When I was six or seven I was at church with my family (in front of 400 people), the preacher asked for hymn requests, I stood up and requested "Red Neckin', Love Makin' Night."
