Concert Review: Bryan White

If you've read my previous concert reviews of Diamond Rio or Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks and Warren Brothers, you'll see I've been having problems with photos. In the case of the Tim McGraw concert, I was told I couldn't take them, and in the case of Diamond Rio, I forgot my camera. This was not the case for Bryan. I had the camera, and my extra disks. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my notebook to write down the set list, so I don't have an exact list, but I do remember most of the songs he played.
Bryan sang several songs, and then he started touching hands with the people near the stage. This caused a run for the stage by some people that were in the back, and soon people were standing up at the front. One of the girls in the audience was celebrating her birthday, and I guess someone told Bryan. He sang her "Happy Birthday."
Bryan introduced the band, and said where they all were from, then noted, "I'm Bryan, and I'm from Oklahoma City." He went on to mention that his mom was from California, and the crowd screamed in approval. The next song he did was his new single, "You're Still Beautiful to Me" from his upcoming album, How Lucky Am I due out on August 24th. He mentioned the release date several times so we all knew when we could buy it. I must say, I didn't really care for the song when I heard it as a video on CMT, but live it was great. The last song in the acoustic set was "From This Moment" which Bryan sang with Shania Twain. He started it, but let the audience sing Shania's parts, and he sang his. Was really interesting. He then told how it was a lot of fun to record this with her. Bryan ended his concert, then came back with Someone Else's Star" as an encore. The crowd got to his feet and gave him a standing ovation before he left. All in all I enjoyed the concert. Bryan is entertaining, but not to the point that I'd vote him Entertainer of the Year. If you enjoy his music, you'd enjoy seeing him perform live. He's even better in person than he is on CD or on the radio. Country Music Photo Album

Next week the Spotlight is on
Faith Hill

I saw
Bryan started out the show with "Love is the Right Place." This song was easily recognizable by the crowd, and everyone was singing along and clapping their hands. A good start to a pleasant night.
After about 30 minutes, the band took a break, and Bryan played some acoustic songs. He said he likes to do that to prove that it really is him singing, and he's no "Milli Vanilli." :D
