Gary Allan - It Would Be You
Gary Allan first appeared on the country music radar in 1996 with his hit single "Her Man." Two years later Gary Re-appeared with his second CD, "It Would Be You." Containing the hit title track, the CD wasn't as big a success as Gary had hoped yet there was evidence of a great talent starting to emerge when Decca Records was merged back into MCA Nashville shortly after this CD was released. MCA saw that talent and decided to keep Gary while jettisoning such label mates as Rhett Akins, Helen Darling and Linda Davis.
On this CD, the best credited tracks are "It Would Be You," "I'll Take Today," "Red Lips, Blue Eyes, Little White Lies," and "I Ain't Runnin' Yet." I said credited because about a minute after Gary finishes the last song, there is a wonderful, ballad that tells the sad, but true, story of a small town murder. "No Judgment Day" is the song and was deemed "too controversial" to be on the CD yet Gary insisted it be there even if it is as a hidden track.
If you are looking for a nice collection of songs that has a true masterpiece, even if you have to be patient waiting for the song to appear, then go ahead and buy Gary Allan's "It Would Be You" CD.
